Biblical gladness is more than passing emotion tied only to favorable circumstances; it is frequently rooted in who God is and what He has done for His people. At the same time, Scripture speaks realistically, so gladness does not deny grief, repentance, or suffering, but exists alongside a life of faith that trusts the Lord.
