1. city in Moab ( MI21; 28 דיבן, compare ib.1 adjective, of a people הדיבני) — דִּיבֹן Num 21:30; Num 32:3; Num 32:34 (built up or at by Gad) Isa 15:2 in territory of Gad, hence דִּיבֹן גָּד֑ Num 33:45; Num 33:46 (compare on these verses & Num 32:34 MI10 f. ); also דִּיבוֺן Josh 13:9; Josh 13:17; Jer 48:22 ישֶׁבֶת בַּת דִּיבוֺן Jer 48:18 = דִּימוֺן Isa 15:9, see also מֵי דִימוֺן Isa 15:9 = Arnon, compare Che & HptZA 1887, 268; — modern Dîbân, north of Arnon, compare Seetzen:Reisen i. 409 TristrLand of Moab 132 ff.
