ἐξολοθρεύω and (according to the reading best attested by the oldest manuscripts of the Sept. and received by L T Tr WH (see ὀλοθρεύω)) ἐξολεθρεύω: future passive ἐξολοθρευθήσομαι; to destroy out of its place, destroy utterly, to extirpate: ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ, Act 3:23. (Often in the Sept., and in the O. T. Apocrypha, and in Test xii. Patr.; Josephus, Antiquities 8, 11, 1; 11, 6, 6; hardly in native Greek writings.)
