Winers Grammar, p. 90 (86); (Buttmann, 69 (61); Stephanus Thesaurus and Veitch, under the word ὠθέω)); to thrust out; expel from one’s abode: Act 7:45 (Thucydides, Xenophon, others). to propel, drive: τό πλοῖον εἰς αἰγιαλόν, Act 27:39 (WH text ἐκσωσαι; see ἐκσῴζω) (the same use in Thucydides, Xenophon, others).
