εὔφημος, ἐυφημον (εὖ and φήμη), sounding well; uttering words of good omen, speaking auspiciously: neuter plural εὔφημα, things spoken in a kindly spirit, with good-will to others, Php 4:8 (A. V. of good report (R. V. marginal reading gracious)). (In very diverse senses common in Greek writings from Aeschylus down.)
