κατασκοπέω, κατασκόπω: 1 aorist infinitive κατασκοπῆσαι; to inspect, view closely, in order to spy out and plot against: τί, Gal 2:4; (of a reconnoitre or treacherous examination, 2Sa 10:3; Jos 2:2; 1Ch 19:3; Euripides, Hel. 1607 (1623); so used, especially in middle, in the other Greek writings from Xenophon down).
