σάτον (Hebrew ëÀàÈä, Chaldean ëÈàúÈà, Syriac )t)S []), σατου, τό, a kind of dry measure, a modius and a half (equivalent to about a peck and a half (cf. μόδιος)) (Josephus, Antiquities 9, 4, 5 ἰσχύει δέ τό σάτον μόδιον, καί ἥμισυ ἰταλικον; cf. Gen 18:6 (see Aq. and Symm.); Jdg 6:19): Mat 13:33; Luk 13:21, (in both examples A. V. ’three measures of meal’ i. e. the common quantity for ’a baking’ (cf. Gen 18:6; Jdg 6:19; 1Sa 1:24)).
